LANDSCAPES – ceramic collection

Landscapes in Emotion and Form

The collection of cups 'landscapes' captures, in abstract form, the feelings and emotions evoked by the beauty of nature. The textures and shapes on each surface represent a moment in time, including the events and lifeforms that defined the essence of that moment. It’s the feeling of admiring the powerful ocean from a majestic rock, or the emotions that arise when looking at the moon’s landscape from Earth. It might even reflect an imaginary place you’ve visited in your dreams.

I’ve named a few of these cups, but many remain unnamed, inviting interpretation by those who hold them. What I see in the textures and colors may be entirely different from what someone else perceives. Every cup offers a personal connection, inviting a new way of seeing landscapes – right in your hands.

The cups feature a white glossy or satin interior, depending on the design. Their exteriors showcase a mix of textures, creating a unique and distinct image on each cup.

Cups & sets

The cups have a bigger size, holding around 320-330 ml. They are crafted from fine white stoneware and fired at 1250 ºC. When placed together, they form a beautiful set that extends an imaginative landscape.

All the pieces in my ceramic art collection, 'wave ripple' are handcrafted in my pottery studio in Malaga. Each item is wheel-thrown and fired at 1250ºC.

The ceramic pieces in this collection share the same forms and size variations as the cups and plates from my handmade pottery collection 'sepia'.
